Electrical Rough In

So the band of electricians were out onsite yesterday to install all the power and network cabling for the house. Below are some pictures taken today:

Downpipes & Air Conditioning

So a visit to the site on Friday morning revealed that the PVC piping was removed and the plumbers back there putting the colourbond downpipes into place. A visit in the afternoon to the site showed that the Air Conditioning people had been onsite to install the air con ducting and return unit into the main roof. Only issue we have is that the air con guys put the ducting through exposed floorspace in the main bedroom and not to plan. I will need to speak to the SS to find out why as essentially we are losing 1sq ft of space out of the main bedroom as framework will need to be installed around it. It's good to see some things happening inside the building. Had a discussion with the SS on Friday who told em the following is planned for this week:

• Painting of the eaves top level - Friday and Saturday - This has now been done as planned.
• Removal of top level scaffolding - Monday - This is currently under way as i type this post.
• Guttering and Facia lower levels to be installed - To be done tomorrow
• Tiling lower levels - To be done this week.

I think that the electrician will also be there this week to start the rough in work. Hopefully we can get to lock up in the next week or two as we really want to get in ASAP. Below is some pictures from Fridays visit.

Downpipes.....

So a drive past the house today shows we now have downpipes on the house, only there is one problem. The pipes are pvc pipes and not colourbond much to our dismay, the wife thinks they look terrible. So called the SS today to get clarification, apparently we get PVC pipes if we have a water tank install, problem is we don't have a water tank as the development already has recycled water. SS has told me that the plumbers have put on the wrong stuff and that colourbond should be on there and will get it all fixed.

Also told that scaffolding will be reduced down on Monday for tiling of the bottom floor, hopefully they have the eaves painted by then and the downpipes replaced with colourbond in such a short time. Here is hoping, once again our SS is man of the hour it does make a difference when you have that good communication happening.

Top Level Bricks Cleaned

We finally had some action this week with the top level bricks being washed as well as the bottom back wall and alfresco area. It has brought up some imperfections that the SS will need to have a look at, to be honest i'm a little let down by the final result especially compared to other houses with the same bricks.

The mortar between the alfresco walls appears to be slightly separated.

Seems to be slight cracking in mortar.

Looks like the motar was finger painted on.
